Wir waren insgesamt 10 Erwachsene und 1 Säugling im Haus. Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm und der Vermieter hat sich sehr nett um uns gekümmert. Es ist alles Nötige im Haus vorhanden, der Vermieter geht aber auch sehr zuvorkommend auf spezielle Wünsche ein.

Die Stadt ist gut mit ÖV erreichbar. Das Haus eignet sich gut für Leute, die stadtnah, aber trotzdem nicht mitten drin sein wollen.

This is a lovely house, especially upstairs, and remarkably quiet and secluded, though in a little town. The Klewer family were very helpful and we also appreciated walking around the nearby lake. The location (Halle and the closeness to a motorway) was key for us for we wished to drive to various important sites in the life of Martin Luther, the great Protestant Reformer, e.g., Eisleben, Mansfeld, Eisenach, Erfurt, Wittenberg, Wartburg, Coburg, Nimbschen and Torgau. It still meant a fair bit of driving but this is inevitable if you stay in one place, for Luther travelled some distances in his eventful life. (This sentence makes perfect sense but it could be understood to be making contradictory assertions!) The trip was very rewarding for our group of seven for, in connection with our own reading before and during the trip, plus tour guides, etc., we gained a much better understanding of Luther’s family, education and trials (Anfechtungen) and saw the places intimately connected with his work as a Bible translater, preacher, university lecturer, husband, writer, theologian and church reformer. From our base in Halle, we also made forays to the Harz mountains and the beautiful towns of Wernigerode and Quedlinburg, and two sites especially connected with World War II: Buchenwald and Colditz Castle (a big favourite in our family because of the escape books and the board game). For us, our fine house in the suburbs of Halle worked really well, especially because it was central to so many quality sites within driving distance. And we didn’t even get to Potsdam, Berlin, Magdeburg, Dresden, etc., for there was too little time!

Der Vermieter ist zuvorkommend und geht auf viele Wünsche und Probleme direkt ein!

Leider keine voll aus gebaute Küche ohne microwelle und backofen ansonsten alles da!

Hatten viel Spass und würden wieder kommen!

I went with my family to Bernd’s house last september and we really enjoyed the time there. The owners are very kind and we didn’t have any problem during the stay (I don’t speak german). I recommend it for couples and famlies who are looking for a quiet place in Halle.
